On August 29 2024, Al Siraat co-hosted and participated in an exhilarating volleyball tournament held at Marymede Catholic College in South Morang. This event featured teams from various schools across Whittlesea, each eager to showcase their skills and compete for the top honours. The day was filled with excitement, demonstrating the spirit of competition and sportsmanship.
From the start of this term, we had a mission to accomplish, ie. to secure the top position in this year’s Volleyball tournament. We facilitated various training sessions during recess and lunch times as well as an after school programme.
Our Year 5/6 students faced a formidable opponent in the Marymede team. The match was fiercely contested, with both teams demonstrating remarkable resilience and technical prowess.
Our ASC boys and girls volleyball teams demonstrated exceptional skill and teamwork throughout the tournament with a combination of strategic plays and strong individual performances. We continued our winning streak, overcoming several challenging opponents.
We excelled in the round-robin stage, with the girls winning all of their matches, and boys losing only one match and securing a second position.
The volleyball tournament was a significant success for our College: The victory not only highlighted the talent and dedication of our teams but also fostered a sense of pride and unity within the school community. We are thrilled with the outcome and grateful for the support and encouragement from everyone involved.
A big shout out to Mr Saleh, our overall coordinator, Mr Badat, the boys team coach, Ms Franciscah , the girls coach, Ms Rayaan and Ms Sadiqah for helping Mr Saleh in hosting and scoring Mr Shukran for being our driver and also buying the students ice cream as a token of appreciation after their hard fought win.
We look forward to participating in future tournaments and continuing to promote excellence in sports and teamwork within Al Siraat College.
