The combined Year 5 and 6 boys and girls cricket teams played in the first game of the Schools Victoria (SSV) Competition against brand new local school Mernda Central on Friday, 10 February 2017.
Both of our teams displayed amazing sportsmanship towards their opponents, support towards each other and great effort towards the cause of victory. Neither team won, however, excellent displays of skills were apparent, suggesting great improvement as the competition continues.
Al Siraat’s boys and girls soccer teams were victorious, winning 6:1 and 7:0 against Mernda Central. In the second round, our 5/6 boys and girls beat St. Mary’s Primary School from Whittlesea 1:0 the following week.

Thank you to all students for their hard work and support and also a massive thanks to the coaches Mr Kinsella, Ms Tannous, Mr Ahmad and Mr Grozdanoski who have been working very hard to train their teams and helped in making the SSV program successful through assisting with the organisation of compiling teams, collecting permission slips and organising the day itself. A big congratulations to all students who behaved exceptionally, especially those students who supported and cheered our College on!
