2016 marked another successful running of our Senior School’s Athletics Carnival. Students from Years 7 to 12 participated in track and field events at the Meadow Glen International Athletics Stadium once again.
It was the first time that our Year 12 students joined in and could attend their final Athletics Carnival for the year, bringing our total number to 188 who attended the event on Monday, 10th October. With our gloomy Melbourne weather skies and the expected chance of rain as every other day, this did not dull the eagerness, passion and high level of participation of our young aspiring athletes.
The day commenced with the girls' 50m sprint events. Preceeding to the boys' involvement, our young girls challenged the track, and field activities such as javelin and shotput. Some students were very ambitious, running in almost every event including the 200m, 400m and 800m time trials.

Our biggest highlight to help our students and teachers refuel their energy levels for the day, were the canteen on site and the Barrister Sisters who joined us with their hot drinks van for the event, comforting our teachers with lots of caffeine.
Throughout Term 3, our dedicated PE staff have been delivering lessons with an prominence on athletics, which helped equip our students with the skills required to succeed at the Athletics Carnival .
Congratulations to Team Safa, winner of the day, who accumulated most points!
A big Thank You to all staff who assisted and help make the event an enjoyable competition for our secondary students.
