Al Siraat is proud to announce that our Senior School student Sadiqah Fatimah from Year 7 has been selected as one of the final 13 of the AFL "All Nations Squad" for 2017.
Sadiqah participated in the All Nations Future Leaders Camp and will play in the National Diversity Championships to be held in Byron Bay/NSW from 9 – 13 October 2017.
Sadiqah kindly provited us with a write-up about her Squad experience below:
"On Saturday, 16 September 2017, I got an opportunity to put my talented skills into action. I had been scouted by the multicultural program in AFL. It was such an honour to represent Al Siraat College.
We had arrived at the Carlton Football Club at around 9:30am. I was really nervous as I had not met the team before. At 10:00am, we left for Worowa College where we were introduced to each other. There were about 40 girls from around Melbourne. We then had a training session and went to Ferngully Lodge where we stayed for the night.
The next day, we played against the “Kickstarts” and won the game. It was the first win for the “All Nations” in history. Today I got the exciting news to progress through to the next stage of this journey. Alhamdulillah."
