The Melbourne Renegades T20 Big Bash Cricket Club attended Al Siraat College on Thursday, 29 August as part of their school’s promotion tour. The aim of the session was to promote awareness of the upcoming cricket season and to create interest in students to potentially join a cricket club. Students got to take a classic catch on the bouncy castle and hit the stumps in the bowling tunnel. They even got to high five ‘Sledge’ one of the Renegades Mascots.
Students from F-2 are currently participating in the Mascot Challenge, where they are aiming to improving their hand eye coordination and throwing and catching skills. This has been notified by PE staff as area that needs significant improvement amongst all students. Parents are encouraged to work with their child to develop their throwing and catching.
Students at Al Siraat have the opportunity to participate in cricket gala days in term four from grades 3-4-5 and 6. And in the Harmony Cup for grades 7-8. So keep working on your skills!!
