This term, Outdoor Education students from both the boys and girls Year 9 classes participated in a archery program. The program was held at Ambrose Archery centre, where students aimed their arrows and fired towards targets in an indoor experience.
The program included a brief introductory lesson and provided students with an opportunity to experience an Islamic tradition that dates back through the life of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). This sunnah is a perfect way to exercise patience and discipline. The importance of safety plays a significant part in the delivery of such programs, and students are put into set routines to ensure that they don’t make any mistakes, as one mistake could have catastrophic events.
Quiz: Which Uncle of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) used a bow to defend his nephew hitting Abu Jahl?
The answer will be given in the next Outdoor Education Article.
