Our Year 8’s recently adventured out and visited Camp Kangaroobie near Port Campbell along the world famous Great Ocean Road.
Year 8 KLIC student Arshia S. has written the following article about the camp experience and also provided some of the beautiful group and scenic and photos on our website gallery.
Since the very moment they arrived onto the camp site, they were eager to accomplish as much as possible. They were hardworking and dedicated to completing their set outdoor camp activities. Feedback received from the Year 8 students was overall positive and showed they enjoyed most parts of the activities.
Over the three days and two nights spent at Kangaroobie camp site, they engaged in learning about how cows, sheep and pigs live at the farm, a competitive game of "life or death", went on night walks, experienced canoeing, went on numerous long scenic hikes and visited stunning sights like the Twelve Apostles and London Bridge along the Shipwreck Coast.
A few comments from our Year 8 students:
“The activities really tested us, but it made it more enjoyable and made us want to keep pushing forward.”
“The best part about camp was the time spent with my friends and how stunning the sights were.”
“A lot of the activities were really tough if you aren’t an outdoors person but once it was over, you realised how much you enjoyed them.”
