This year, the Junior School team will celebrate National Book Week, Literacy Week & Numeracy Week during the first week of September, from Monday 3rd – 11th September. Our purpose is to promote a love of literature and learning. We are very excited and the staff have begun making plans. During the week students will partake in a number of activities, events and competitions. We anticipate lots of fun and learning!
Did you know that the Children’s Book Council of Australia (CBCA) is a volunteer organisation established in 1945 at a time when Australian children’s books were few ? They now promote books of high literary merit. Click here to discover the 2018 short listed books.
The Scholastic Book Fair will visit our school from Monday 3rd – 11th September. The students will have access to a wide variety of children’s books.

- Better Buddies Reading Date – Foundation & Grade 4

- Can you guess the number of Jelly Bean’s in the jar ? What strategy will you use ? 50cents per guess.
- Story writing competition.
- Design your own bookmark competition .
- Spelling Bee (grade 3 and 4).
- Time-tables Challenge (grade 3 and 4).

Book Fair: Tuesday, 4 – 11 September.
Character Parade: Tuesday, 4 September.Dress up as your favourite book character (with respect to Islamic tradition please). Bring along your book to share with your class.
Reading picnic: Friday, 7 September.
Pre-loved Book Swap: Monday, 3 September.
Sock it to Reading: Monday, 3 September.Wear bright & silly socks to show your support for books.
