Child Safety At School

Al Siraat College seeks to provide an open and friendly learning environment which values community and visitors. Visitors include parents, prospective families, volunteers, invited speakers, contractors and commercial sales people. Schools are NOT public spaces and hence, the Department of Education expects that schools must have procedures to manage all visitors in schools.

In addition to our duty of care for our students, we recognise our obligation to provide a safe and secure environment for all members of our school community. We trust all our families to help us keep our school safe and adhere to some important procedures:

  • All visitors are to report to the school office on arrival. This will help us identify the purpose of each visit, the appropriateness and legal requirements such as a Working With Children Check.
  • We expect that after drop off and pick up times there are NO parents on the premises during school hours. If you are a volunteer you will be provided with a clear timetable and details.
  • Any parents or visitors must report to the school office, sign-in and wear a visible lanyard and then sign-out. – Parents and visitors are NOT permitted to approach children during play times and interrupt classroom sessions.

We hope that you will be considerate when coming to collect your children at the end of the day. No parent should be in any of the school buildings before 3.15pm.

We thank you for your cooperation.
