Al Siraat has long been a cornerstone of education and community engagement in the City of Whittlesea. Over the years, the College has played a crucial role in shaping young minds and fostering a sense of belonging among families in the area. As we continue to grow, so does our influence within the wider community.
We are excited to share that two of our valued staff members, Ms Gulhan Yoldas and Ms Rachael Hussein, are stepping up to contest in the upcoming City of Whittlesea local elections. Their decision to run reflects not only their commitment to education but also their passion for serving the community and ensuring its needs are met at the local government level:
- Ms Rachael Hussein (Team Leader Customer Care): Epping Ward
- Ms Gulhan Yoldas (Community Engagement Lead): Ganbu Gulinj Ward.
Both candidates bring a wealth of experience and insight, grounded in their work at Al Siraat College. They understand the challenges faced by families, educators, and students in our city, and are eager to advocate for positive changes. Having representation from the Al Siraat community at the council level will provide a much-needed voice to champion local issues and the unique needs of our area, promoting inclusivity, diversity, and community well-being.
We wish Ms Gulhan and Ms Rachael much success in their campaigns and look forward to seeing the positive impact they will make for the City of Whittlesea. Let’s come together as a community to support them in this important journey!
