We are fast approaching one of the most sacred times in the Islamic calendar, the annual pilgrimage to Mecca (Hajj). In the past, we have offered our students the opportunity to experience what it might be like to go for Hajj through a simulation set up at the College. This is an event we hold every 2 years and this will be the fourth time we are offering it to our Junior School students. The details are explained further below.
Please take note that due to the wonderful growth in the College, we need to conduct the Hajj Simulation over 2 separate days. Your child will participate according to their grade level.
Wednesday, 31 August: Years Foundation to 2
Thursday, 1 September: Years 3 to 6
Times: Between 8.30am – 1.20pm
Students: Foundation to Year 6 (with Year 9 students assisting)
Purpose: Develop an awareness and excitement for the annual Hajj and learn about some of the relevant details.
Preparation:
Boys: Where possible, bring white ihram cloths (white towels with safety pins are fine). This will be worn directly over their uniform.
Girls: Will need to be in their full school uniform (NOT sport uniform)
We look forward to having your child participate in this year’s Hajj Simulation. InShaAllah, it will assist our children to understand this wonderful event much better.
Feel free to contact the College to speak to me on 9408 1999, if you need any further clarifications.
