Alhamdulillah, we have successfully completed our Term 2 Hifz Tournament. The finals were held in the morning of 14th June, and there was a buzz of excitement as the students competed.
This term, the competition was held in a tournament style, in which students competed in teams and were given at least 2 opportunities before being eliminated. This way was chosen to give the students more opportunity for improvement, so they are more excited and they work in cooperation with their team-mates.
There were 2 categories: 3 Juz’ (Juz’ 28 to 30) and 7 Juz’ (Juz’ 24 – 30). It was a lengthy competition with Category 1 having 7 matches in the lead up to the finals and Category 2 having 17 matches. One of the teams in Category 2 had a total of 6 matches!

Category 1 (3 Juz’) – Abdullah Syed (Captain), Abdulrahman Ibrahim and Yahya Ahmed
Category 2 (7 Juz’) – Salahdin Hassan (Captain), Hamdan Yusuf and Mohammad Hassan
The highlight of the event was a special announcement:
Ruweyda Yusuf has completed her Hifz memorisation!
MashaAllah! May Allah Ta'ala make her steadfast during her revision period and give her the strength and wisdom to be a leader of the Muslim Ummah.
We hope that many more students will follow the lead set by Ruweyda and those that completed memorisation before her.
