It is with great pleasure that we share with you the official launch of the "Tree of Life" which was held on Thursday, 10 December 2015. Our partnership with local council has created a valuable long lasting piece of artwork that is beautiful, meaningful and a symbol of appreciation of our diverse cultures at City of Whittlesea.
Al Siraat College along with Whittlesea Council was the center stage of the success of the Tawasal Project and for this we are very grateful to all the Year 9 and 10 students, staff of Al Siraat College and the Baseline team involved. A special thanks to Jasmine Ouiada and Peter Ajak (staff members of Youth Services team, Whittlesea Council) for supporting and motivating our students to create this masterpiece that is now present in Baseline Office at Mill Park. The twin piece will be displayed at our College.
The launch was attended by Mr Andrew Houghton, Mrs. Rahat Arain (College Principals), Dr Sonia Cheema (Head of Well-being), Amnah Arain (College Captain) and Tarek Taleb (College Vice-captain).
There was a small presentation prepared by Dr Cheema to appreciate and acknowledge the collaboration and hard work that has made this project very successful. The Mayor of City of Whittlesea, Councillors and Youth services staff members from different council departments were also present.
