Indonesian Delegates Visit Al Siraat

6 November 2024

On 30th October 2024, the College had the honour of hosting another group of distinguished Indonesian delegates as part of the Australia-Indonesia Muslim Exchange Program (AIMEP), facilitated by Mosaic Connections.

The tour of the College was hosted by Mr Hafidi from our SSD (Student Support Department) Team, with a warm welcome from our Assistant Principal Mr Don Walkley, who introduced the delegates to the College’s vision and values.

The delegates came from a range of industries, including education, community development, social entrepreneurship, disability advocacy, and environmental sustainability. Several were involved in initiatives focused on inclusive education and youth empowerment, particularly for children with disabilities. Others worked on projects addressing bullying in schools, promoting positive discipline, and fostering diversity through interactive learning.

Among the delegates were professionals from the legal sector advocating for legal reform and gender rights, as well as leaders in digital media, career development, and sustainability, including initiatives for plastic-free campuses. Their diverse expertise sparked inspiring discussions on collaboration for positive social impact.

Eager to learn about our unique approach to Islamic education in Australia, the delegates toured key areas of the College, beginning with the M Building, where they observed the dedication of our Hifz students in the Qur'an memorization program. The tour continued through the Primary and TEAMS Buildings, ending in the Musallah, where they saw firsthand how Islamic values are integrated into our academic curriculum. SRC students joined to share their insights about the College, enriching the experience.

The visit concluded with a morning tea at the Markaz, providing a relaxed space for networking with Al Siraat’s leadership and students. This setting fostered meaningful connections, with discussions about shared values, goals, and future opportunities for cultural exchange and collaboration. We thank all the delegates and Mosaic Connections for facilitating this visit and we look forward to welcoming future delegates in the year ahead.
