Our Primary Pre-Eid Market held yesterday was a resounding success, bringing together students, staff, and parents for a joyful day of celebration and giving. The auditorium buzzed with excitement as students explored a good variety of items from both external vendors and student-run stalls.

Students had the opportunity to browse and shop during allocated class visits, and the market remained open after school to welcome parents and school families. The event provided a wonderful chance for students to select thoughtful Eid gifts for their loved ones, with prices starting as low as $1.

A highlight of the market was its fundraising purpose – with all stall fees going towards the Masjid. We are incredibly grateful for the participation and generosity of our school community in supporting this meaningful cause.

Thank you to everyone who contributed, from our dedicated vendors to our enthusiastic students and staff who helped organise and run the event. Your efforts made this Pre-Eid Market a truly memorable and impactful occasion!

We are delighted to announce that Al Siraat College has launched a new Nasheed club called the ASC Songbirds with the purpose of performing Nasheeds and songs at events and assemblies!

Auditions were open to female Primary students from Years 3 to 6 and were held during the week of 10th February 2025, attracting an incredible 90+ sign-ups! We are grateful for the enthusiasm and initiative shown by so many students eager to try something new. We had so many amazing voices, and choosing the final group was a challenging task.

Alhamdulillah, we have now chosen 20 talented students who will represent the College as the first ever members of the ASC Songbirds! So far, they have performed the national anthem at our Friday morning assembly and are now preparing a special Nasheed performance for the end of the term, among other exciting opportunities.

We cannot wait to see and hear our Songbirds grow and shine with this new opportunity!

Our boys’ and girls’ cricket teams continue to dominate the School Sports Victoria (SSV) competition, securing back-to-back wins against Glowrey Catholic and Harvest Home Primary School, keeping their unbeaten streak alive.

Gritty Victory Against Harvest Home

Today’s match was a tougher battle on an uneven pitch in challenging conditions. Runs were hard to come by, but Rayan and Harris put up a solid total. Our disciplined bowlers adapted well, sealing a 20-run victory despite extreme heat and fasting.

With just one game left, the team is on the brink of becoming SSV Premiers. InShaAllah, they can finish the season on a high!

Despite a 32-run victory, the girls completely outclassed their opponents. Captain Zara led by example, with Alizeh, Azzah, and Ayesha providing strong support. Their dedication beyond match days, using lunch and recess breaks for extra training, is paying off.

With momentum on their side, the team is eager to finish the season strong!

Our ASC Girls’ Soccer Team celebrated a well-earned 2-0 victory in today’s match, showcasing skill, teamwork, and determination and continuing their winning streak.

From the start, the team displayed control and precision. Ava opened the scoring early with a well-placed shot, setting the tempo. The opposition equalised, but defenders Humaira, Maryam, and Dua held firm to deny further goals.

The second half was intense, with both teams battling for dominance. In a spectacular play, Juweiriya assisted Mahnoor for a stunning goal, putting Al Siraat ahead. Goalkeeper Nina made crucial saves to secure the win.

Students from Years 7 – 9 had the invaluable opportunity to engage in a special incursion focused on road safety. The session, held on 5 March 2025, was led by two crossing supervisors from Whittlesea Council, provided essential knowledge and practical tips to help our students stay safe when crossing roads, both on and around the school grounds.

The guest speakers shared their expertise on how to safely navigate busy streets, emphasising the importance of using designated crossings, paying attention to traffic signals, and remaining vigilant for any potential hazards. The crossing guards also discussed key safety practices, such as looking both ways before crossing, avoiding distractions like mobile phones and earphones, and the critical role of being aware of their surroundings at all times.

The incursion was both informative and interactive, with students actively participating by asking questions and discussing the road safety rules that they should follow in their daily routines.
