This week, our Year 1 and 2 students were treated to an exciting and educational performance of ReBoots Cyber Safety Show! The engaging puppet show, presented by Melbourne Puppet Kerfuffle, taught students important lessons about staying safe online in a fun and interactive way.

Through the adventures of Calvin, Bruce, and their digital assistant Reboot, students learned how to protect their personal information, recognise unsafe situations, and ask for help from a trusted adult. The puppeteers used humour and storytelling to make these important messages easy to understand and remember.

The Student Representative Council (SRC); in partnership with Speaking Schools Australasia, recently organised a dynamic Public Speaking Workshop for Year 11 Community Services students and Year 12 Student Leaders.

This highly interactive workshop focused on building confidence and nurturing resilience, equipping students with essential soft skills to help them navigate an ever-changing world. Through a series of engaging activities, students enhanced their critical thinking, communication, and teamwork abilities, all while fostering empathy and resilience.

The workshop was an incredible opportunity for students to step out of their comfort zones, develop their public speaking skills, and gain confidence in their ability to express themselves effectively. Participants worked in small groups, engaging in hands-on exercises designed to refine their speaking techniques and boost their confidence when addressing an audience.

Our cricket team delivered yet another emphatic performance, securing a comprehensive victory over The Lakes South Morang College in today’s match. Batting first, we put up an imposing 158 runs, setting a formidable target for the opposition.

Leading the charge with the bat were Sarim and Rayhaan, both showcasing their class with 40 runs each, providing a solid foundation for our innings.

In response, our bowlers executed a clinical display, dismissing The Lakes for just 61 runs. Wickets were shared among the bowlers, reflecting a well-rounded team effort in restricting the opposition. Our fielding was sharp, our bowling relentless, and our batting dominant—an all-around performance that underscores our continued strength this season.

With this convincing win, we now shift our focus to next week’s home fixture against Glowrey, where we aim to keep the momentum going!

Our Year 12 Study Camp was a fantastic mix of academics, teamwork, and outdoor excitement! The camp kicked off with a wellbeing and team-building session led by Ms Fatima and Ms Aseel, helping students bond and set a positive tone for the year ahead.

Students embraced a range of thrilling activities, from canoeing along serene waters and testing their aim in archery to soaring through the air on the flying fox. The camp cooking session was a fun way to build teamwork while creating delicious meals, while the indoor rock-climbing wall pushed students to new heights. Evenings were just as engaging, with Mr Azim’s Trivia Night sparking friendly competition and the campfire bringing everyone together for stories, games, and laughter.

We’re incredibly proud of how our Year 12 students embraced both the academic challenges and the adventurous spirit of the camp. It was a memorable experience that helped strengthen friendships, build resilience, and prepare them for the year ahead.

Our Year 2 students were transported on an extraordinary journey through space during their exciting incursion with the Science Discovery Dome. This immersive and interactive experience brought the wonders of the solar system to life, sparking curiosity and wonder in young minds.

Inside the dome, students had the opportunity to visualise planets, moons, and stars in a breathtaking 360-degree environment. The dynamic visuals and engaging activities made complex astronomical concepts accessible and fun, allowing students to deepen their understanding of space while actively participating in the learning process.

By experiencing the vastness of the universe in such a hands-on and interactive way, students gained a newfound appreciation for the mysteries of space. This experience not only enriched their science learning but also ignited a passion for exploration and discovery.
