Our Student Council Representatives (SRCs) had the opportunity to attend an “Introduction to Public Speaking” training workshop, conducted by Mitch Ditkoff.
Public Speaking is an activity that helps students to grow in confidence when speaking, which is a very useful life skill. Participation in any of the events held in public speaking will not only help students with current and future study, but also allow them to voice their opinion and participate in discussions in the real world.
Mitch is the co-founder and president of Idea Champions, an innovation consulting and training company in the USA that specializes in creativity, innovation, team building, and leadership. For the last 2 years, he has been named one of the top 5 speakers on innovation by one of the leading speaker’s bureaus in the US. In 2010 and 2011, Mitch was voted the #1 innovation blogger in the world. He has worked with companies including GE, Merck, AT&T, NBC Universal, Coca Cola, and many more to improve their innovation capacity.
During the training session, students had an opportunity to do a role play, practice the use of microphone and voice tone. They learned some helpful techniques from Mr. Mitch about public speaking.
