This week, Junior School students from Year 6 visited the historic Victorian Parliament House as a part of their civics and citizenship inquiry unit.
The students viewed the unique and beautiful architecture of the house. Students were privileged to sit inside both the upper and lower house where the politicians sit. They learnt about the history of Parliament House, about Local, State and Federal governments and their leaders, the parties, representatives, bills, the role of the speaker, and how a parliamentary sitting works.

Students also role played how a new bill is debated in the lower house, with costumes and a mace. It was a fun and interactive experience for all.
