Our students from all ages took part in the annual Ride2School day on Friday, 23 March 2018. The ride promotes cycling and road safety, helping cyclists to ride safely.
We started our ride to school from Waterlily Drive in Epping (off Hayston Boulevard) to reach the College from the bike path that connects back to Harvest Home Road. The public bike path starts and finishes right next to Al Siraat. We are aware that many more children would ride to school on a regular basis if they were able to find a safe route to get to school.
We know that children who exercise regularly do better in class, and the easiest way to do this is ride a bike to school. Some parents worry about their children riding to school, particularly in busy suburbs and towns, and we are aware that many more students would ride to school on a regular basis if they were able to find a safe route to get to and from school. However, we trust that riding in a group might offer a safe alternative which might also break some barriers, inShaAllah.

It was great to see the parents getting involved in the ride. We even had a parent ride on a uni Segway, mashaAllah. We look forward to seeing more parents and students take part in future rides to school, inShaAllah.
