Al Siraat College was honoured to welcome the Mayor of the City of Whittlesea, Cr Aidan McLindon, for a special visit. During his time at the college, Mayor McLindon met with College founders Mr Fazeel and Ms Rahat, who shared the inspiring history of Al Siraat and its mission to provide quality education to students in our community.
A highlight of the visit was the Mayor’s meeting with our 2025 College Captains Aaliya Farah (Girls) and Amaar Hamida (Boys), alongside their Vice-Captains Nusayr Sultan and Farhan Abid, where they recorded a video promoting the recently launched Online Campus together. This initiative aims to further enhance educational accessibility for students both within and beyond the ASC community. The mayor welcomed opportunities for our student leaders to better understand the processes, roles and responsibilities of the Mayor and councillors.
Mayor McLindon also met with the Parents and Friends Community (PFC), where he answered several important questions about local issues. Topics included the ongoing road construction, traffic congestion, fines, and the community’s stance on blocking the proposed incinerator in the area. The Mayor provided insights and updates, fostering a productive dialogue between the local government and our school community.
Mayor McLindon’s visit included a tour of the College, including the Musallah, and meeting with members of the executive team. It was a great opportunity to strengthen ties between the City of Whittlesea and Al Siraat College, as well as to showcase the continued success and growth of the College.
We look forward to further collaboration with the Mayor and the City of Whittlesea towards best outcomes for our local community.
