On today’s Friday, 29 October 2021, Australia celebrates World Teachers Day, a special day to acknowledge the bright future of teaching and thank our hard working, dedicated teachers for making a difference in our kids' lives.
Just when we all thought "we've got this" in Victoria, our school community went back to teaching and learning remotely because certainly, the snap lockdown was just for a few short weeks – or so we thought at the time. What is difficult to see is the invisible weight of worry that as teachers, we feel about our students. We also recognise that the work that teachers do is not a solo effort and there are many other non-teaching staff that add to the important work developing relationships and improving systems to support us, ie. our Student Support team, teacher aides, Canteen, Maintenance, IT and Customer Support team: Teachers are truly inter-dependent.
At Al Siraat, we are very grateful for our teachers, staff and all levels of leaders. To completely rework what teaching looks like today and to work tirelessly to connect with students. To do it with passion, flexibility and grace shows us how deeply invested you are in your teaching and nurturing of those little humans and our Seniors, as well as all those students in between. So we thank YOU and wish you a happy Teachers’ Day!
To celebrate Teachers’ Day today, Ms Noori and the SRC students have arranged a special online program from 2:30pm for all staff where some fun games will be played.
The attached "Thank You" card was created by our Year 9 Interfaith team, with special thanks to Amnah Saad, Hafsa Saleemi and Maryam Siddiqui for their combined efforts.
