Al Siraat’s Ms Tanya Kubitza continues cycling for charitable causes. She is on her bike again this month to support “Bicycles for Humanity" and is well on her way towards reaching her cycling goal.
Donating to the project will help to increase awareness of sustainability in recycling and re-purposing bicycles, and empower disadvantaged people worldwide through the simple access to a bicycle.
Your donations help to finance three shipping containers with 400 bikes each to be sent to Namibia and Sambia in Africa.
The containers will remain at the destination and be converted into a small shop from where the bikes will be sold. This will enable locals to be mobile and the sales money will be used to fund orphanages, pay for children’s food, school fees and teachers' wages:
- The sale of one bike can feed 60-80 children at the feeding centre for one day
- The sale of one bike can pay the school fees for one child for 6 months
- The sale of one bike can provide the monthly wage for one preschool teacher
