Al Siraat College is supporting “Bicycles for Humanity" and would like to encourage parents and the wider community to contribute towards their current fundraiser.
Your donations will be used to finance the shipping of containers with 400 bikes each to various countries worldwide, including Fiji and Namibia. The containers will remain at the destination and be converted into a small shop from where the bikes will be sold. Disadvantaged people will thus be empowered through the simple access to a bicycle. The money from sold bicycles will be used to fund orphanages, pay for children’s food, school fees and teachers' wages and help increase awareness of sustainability in recycling and re-purposing bicycles:
The sale of one bike can feed 60-80 children at the feeding centre for one day
The sale of one bike can pay the school fees for one child for 6 months
The sale of one bike can provide the monthly wage for one preschool teacher
